Frantz Fanon arrived in Algeria as a doctor and left as one of the great theorists of liberation. He understood colonisation as a wound to the mind as much as the body — and made Algeria's struggle speak to the whole colonised world.

He became one of the most cited theorists of decolonization in the 20th century.
Adopted Algeria, and through Algeria gave the global South a vocabulary for liberation.
Their story
Martinican-born psychiatrist and thinker, Frantz Fanon worked at Blida hospital before joining the Algerian revolution. His writings analyzed colonial violence and the psychology of liberation.
