Historical significance

His revolt is one of the earliest organized Berber responses to the Arab conquest and paved the way for figures like Dihya.

Their story

An Amazigh chief who first allied with the early Arab armies, Kusayla later turned against them, briefly retook the city of Kairouan, and rallied Berber tribes from across the central Maghreb.
