Si El-Haoussi

A respected leader of the Ouled Sidi Cheikh in the western steppes, Si El-Haoussi joined the long cycle of revolts against French expansion in the south-west. He fought as part of a broader family of religious and tribal chiefs whose resistance spanned decades.

He represents the western Algerian resistance that linked Saharan tribes with the Tell.
